Daniel
Daniel a 17 year old, started on E2E programme showed interested in developing skills in ICT . He had some prior knowledge of using computers and his main reason for enrolling on E2E was to gain a CLAIT qualification.
On the course Daniel worked well using Training Manuals, tutor-led session and instructions, he was able to use his own initiative and completed tasks. His attendance and punctuality was very good, he showed commitment and dedication. He worked well within a team and was helpful towards other learners. He was motivated under supervision, however, sometimes needed guidance and encouragement to complete tasks. |
 |
here were 4 sets of Training manuals and he has managed to complete all of them, together with some extra assignments. He lacked confidence in his ability to use MS Office software but by the end of the course was competent and able to produce realistic office documents. He also covered other aspects of Office duties i.e. photocopying, binding manuals and dealing with incoming and outgoing post. He also covered job search, designed and typed a CV and applied for jobs towards the end of the course. He further achieved First Aid and Food Hygiene Certificates.
Overall result of Daniel’s case was very good and all his targets were met.

Imran
LACoST Services appointed Imran as a Volunteer in Jan 2004. He wanted the opportunity to work in Administration. He worked hard for nine months to prove himself as a hard worker- and a team member. In August through to Dec 2004 Imran supported a young people’s project and worked alongside trainers/tutors, offering a buddying service to young people of his peer group.
As a peer mentor the young people’s pilot project PRE-E2E worked well and succeeded in retaining young people on the project.
Imran’s biggest achievements have been gaining employment with LACoST Services as a trainee Admin worker. His duties include; Outreach work, project support and student support. He says….. “It made me build up my self-confidence and I learnt how to approach clients on a one-to-one basis” he goes on to add:
…. “Lacost has helped me build up my admin skills in different areas such as, faxing, filing, answering general telephone calls, also I have a responsibility of stock control, dealing with clients |
at front desk, which helped me build up my communication and body language”.
Imran has been receiving on-the-job training and is working towards his NVQ level 2 in Administration. Further training is planned to take place this year to help Imran build on his skills and experience. |

Rabia
About a year ago Rabia had a serious accident in which she fell and broke her back. She was in hospital for many months and was then returned home, still being unable to walk unaided. She joined the Pre E2E Mix n Match Training course in Oct 2004 and attended the full course.
During the course Rabia took full advantage of the different courses on offer. She worked hard to produce her own piece of music through our music workshop. Helped direct, edit and produce a filmed documentary and increased her IT skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
She also attended all of the planned excursions, which included a trip to the London eye, Ice skating at Lea valley ice rink, and Bowling in Surrey Quays.
Rabia was a very committed and enthusiastic student who took the opportunity to get back into the community and make new friends. She also worked hard to improve her skills and prepare herself for future aims, with a determination not to let her disability affect her progress. I hope that she goes on to achieve all that she has planned.

Alfu Miah
When Alfu aged 17 first began the course he was very quiet, and uncertain about what the course will contain.
Alfu settled in and made excellent progress, showing a keen interest in the practical elements, always the first to pick up the camera and start experimenting.
He said that filming was his favourite subject and this was demonstrated through his ability to express himself when practical tasks commenced. He became more vocal within the group, actively participating in activities discussions, forming ideas about the project work. Alfu was eager to learn more about the filming industry – he found this medium easy to ‘open up’ with and communicate through. His attendance was very good, he was enthusiastic about the subject and the environment and I believe that he will pursue further training in the film/media industry.
